Florida Trip - Monday and Tuesday

Monday was the day we were looking forward to the most.  We went to Universal Studios in Orlando, most especially so we could see Harry Potter World.  It was way cool.  The atmosphere is what was the coolest, you just felt like you were there.

We also saw the actual cars used in the new Fast and Furious movie.

Tuesday was our last day in Florida and we were not excited about that.  The good part about that day was that we got to spend a few hours with Olive and Vanessa.  While they napped after getting off the plane we went and checked out North Beach.  It was pretty but we still preferred St. Pete's beach.

We bought Olive an Elmo toy and when I handed it to her, she was more than happy to come sit on my lap.

We took them shopping at Old Navy to buy a couple new outfits for Olive (ignore the creepy man in the background).

We were sad to head back home but it was a wonderful trip and we are very glad we used our tax return to go to Florida!  We will be continuing this tradition as it just does wonders for one to get away for awhile.  Who knows, maybe next year we can swing Hawaii.

Florida Trip - Saturday and Sunday

After all the walking around we did on Friday, we decided we needed a break on Saturday.  We slept in and then started in on our eating fest.  If you have ever watched the show Man vs. Food, you know he goes to different food places all over the country.  We decided to try out The Old Salty Dog and Yoders.  At the Old Salty Dog we got the hot dogs and we had a little appetizer on our way to Yoders.  Yoders was amazing and had some of the best pie ever (I don't like pie either).

The bridge below was built in a way that it looked like there were two sailboats on it.  We didn't get a great picture of it but we thought it was cool.  We thought the sign below was hilarious so we took a picture of it.

After lunch we hit a movie and then George and I got some alone time to go walking on the beach at sunset.  It was gorgeous out there.  The wind was blowing but it was still warm and the water felt great.  We got me some seafood afterwards.  :)

On Sunday we attended Kevin's branch.  It is a very small branch but it was nice to be in such a close knit environment.  He had meeting's after church and it was nice and breezy so we had a nice walk home.  Naps and a great Roast Beef dinner were later in the evening and then we decided to really go enjoy the beach.  Kev taught us how to boogie board.

 Kev and George boogie boarding.

We were playing in the waves and they were really strong.  It had been kind of stormy which provided some awesome waves but I'm short so they would crash into me and knock me down fairly easily.  They were strong enough that more than once I had a swimsuit malfunction, good thing there was no one around.  At the end of my adventures in the water George and I were jumping in the waves.  One sort of knocked me over and got some salt water down my throat and I started coughing and was working on getting it out.  As I was coughing, another wave came up on us rather quickly.  Kevin yelled at us to turn around but we weren't quick enough and just as we turned, the wave hit us good.  More salt water down the throat.  My stomach had had it.  Up went all of dinner, multiple times.  George had to get me out of the ocean quickly.  We got a good laugh out of it and it's a great story.  I took time to take pictures of the gorgeous sunset since the boys were still boogie boarding.

Saturday and Sunday were nice and relaxing and we are so happy we got time on that gorgeous beach.

Trip to Florida - Wednesday - Friday

Last week George and I got to escape.  We were so excited to go on our trip.  We packed up and headed to Salt Lake on Wednesday.  We saw a movie, got some dinner, went to a hotel in Salt Lake and played in the pool.  We decided staying at a hotel would be better on us sleep wise than getting up at 4 in the morning and driving to the airport.  Thursday we were up bright and early to catch our flight to Florida!  George had never been there so this was definitely a new place for him.  I was excited to go back again and looked forward to seeing my little bro for his birthday.  We got into Florida at 5pm and spent the evening eating, going to the dock, and watching a movie.  We had to get to bed pretty early so we could get up the next morning (Kevin's Birthday) to go to Busch Gardens.  Can't you just see the excitement on our faces after getting up early and working out and then heading out? (That day was our only workout, ha)

Busch Gardens was pretty cool.  There were some great rides.  I think one of our favorite parts was feeding nectar to the birds.

We thought the big turtle was adorable.

There was also a Cirque du Soleil show at Busch Gardens that we attended.  We thought the people performing were absolutely amazing and we have no clue how they did what they did.

And of course there had to be some goofing around.

After Busch Gardens we went to dinner at a Burger Place called Square One.  They were good burgers and I especially enjoyed the water.

After dinner we went to see the BYU Young Ambassadors perform.  George and I thought it was funny that we had to go to Florida to see them perform.  It was an excellent performance and Kevin had fun reuniting with some friends.

It was a great night and we hope that Kevin enjoyed his birthday.
