Training and Other Stuff

Boy are we pooped.

The first week of our half marathon training is done.  We ran 3 miles last Wednesday, 4 miles last Saturday, 3 again Monday, 2 yesterday, and 3 more today.  We are so glad tomorrow is a stretch and strengthen day and I'm glad that Friday is a cross train day cause it means I will be going to Step Aerobics (which I love).  I don't know what crazy thoughts were going through our heads when we decided to do this but I think, albeit sometimes painful, that it was a smart decision on our part.  10.5 more weeks until the race.

Along with training, we are trying to get George through the last 4 weeks of school.  This semester has been a killer one with everything that has happened and the homework his teachers like to give.  There is a lot due this week and a 14 page history paper we haven't even started on.  I have to say in the end I am so proud of my husband and his hard work.  He is looking for part-time internships right now for the summer in physical therapists offices.  We are hoping he can find one that will eventually turn into a paid job.  Who knows, maybe he can quit Wally World by the end of the summer!

Life is good.  We are blessed and forever thankful to our Heavenly Father for His patience with us.

Utah Valley Half Marathon

Yesterday, George and I got a little crazy.  We decided to pay for and train for the Utah Valley Half Marathon.  Oh man, we are out of our minds.  We aren't runners.  lol.  We did our first run last night.  It was three miles.  I finished in 42 minutes and he finished in 35.  So I am running 14 minutes miles and he is running 11 and a little bit miles.  On Saturday, we are going to do our run outside so we will see how much time an outside run with hills and stuff will take us.

We have 12 weeks.  The race is on June 12.  Our goal is to just finish in the 4 hours alotted.  We would like to finish a little faster than that though!  Here's to training!

Back to the Daily Grind

Sad day, spring break is over and we were back to our daily grind this morning.  It was hard to get out of bed.  Our new goal is to not hit the snooze button, so we didn't.  We got up and then went back to bed and reset our alarms.  lol.  Oh man.  We are both working hard to make sure we are on time to school and work from now on.

George and I were released from Nursery yesterday!  Oh my goodness.  The time flew by so fast.  We enjoyed our Sunday School lesson and then I got to go to Relief Society.  Some of the sisters giggled right along with me that I was actually there.  All in all, it was a wonderful Sunday.

The best part was when I got home from visiting teaching.  I was trying to drink a glass of water and George kept knocking my arm so that I would spill on myself when I tried to drink.  I kept thinking, "if he does that one more time, I am going to dump this water on him."  I kept talking myself out of it because I didn't want to get the couch wet but he did it again and I'd had enough.  So I took that cup and dumped the water out on him.  He was stunned and shocked.  He was surprised that I would actually do something like that.  Mewhahahaha.  But then he took the rest of the water in the cup and dumped it on me.  It was pretty funny.  For a minute there though I thought I was in big trouble.  Boy do I love him.

Infertility

I thought this was very poignant and heart wrenching at the same time.  I know I don't have all the same problems that some of my friends have but I can relate to many of the feelings talked about here!  I pray that we can find hope and happiness in our daily lives.  Take each day and live it to the fullest!  I was reminded in the temple yesterday of our main purpose here on earth.  We are here to serve one another and bring our brothers and sisters home.  Adam and Eve were commanded to multiply and replenish the earth.  However, no where in the scriptures does it say that if we can't we will not make it home to our Heavenly Father.  The one thing it does talk about is that sealing power and being sealed to our spouse who helps us reach perfection.  That's the most important relationship.  The blessings we do not receive on earth will be ours after this life!  I'm sure of it!  I love you all.

YM

Well, George was called to be the YM secretary in our ward.  He is a little nervous about it but I know he is going to do a good job.  However, that means being more on top of homework so it for sure doesn't have to be done on Sundays since he now has meetings on Sundays.  There goes our one day together.  I'm proud of him and the man he is and I know that he will have a wonderful time working with the young men in our ward.

On another note, thank goodness for Spring Break this week.  We really need a break from school and George needs some time to catch up on some sleep and get ahead on his homework!  Here's to a wonderful, delightful break.

Wowsers

Finally!  Today was the first phone call I've received from the doctor where it has actually been good news.  My HCG levels are decreasing.  Hallelujah.  The methotrexate must have done it's job.  We are thankful for the wonderful doctor who has worked with us throughout this whole process.  He definitely has been wonderful.  Now, his nurses on the other hand...

So what does that all mean?  Well it means I can go back to my normal life, yay!  I am allowed to exercise again.  I never thought I would be so excited for that to happen.  He will have the levels tested still over the next couple of weeks until they go back down to zero.  At that point, I will start taking Folic Acid again to build it back up in my body so that when we do get pregnant again, the baby will be healthy.

Then we have to wait a couple of months.  So, we can't try again until the end of May/ beginning of June but that's okay.  It will give us some time to recoup emotionally and for me to work on my body physically.  We are hoping I can lose some weight before we try again.  My mom and I are joining weight watchers tomorrow and heck I am headed to the gym today.  Don't worry, I won't overdo it.

I am thankful to all the prayers given on our behalf in the last month and for all the love and support.  I don't know what I would do without so many wonderful people in my life.  I love you all.  Here's to the rest of this year being a happy one and the next pregnancy being a healthy one!

Hello Cruel World

Oh my goodness!  I'm going to complain today.  I've been trying to be happy through this whole thing but heck it is getting me down today because it hurts!!!!!!!!

The doc still wasn't sure what was going on so he decided to treat the one that could hurt me the most first.  I've been treated for an ectopic pregnancy.  The gave me a shot of methotrexate (a chemotherapy drug).  It is supposed to kill rapidly increasing cells, hence the reason they use it for this.  Yesterday I didn't feel well, I felt tired and my tummy hurt so I didn't go to work yesterday thinking that would be the worst of it and I would be fine today.  Oh how wrong I was.  I'm at work today and in lots of pain.  This stuff is evil.  Hopefully it's doing its job and this will all be taking care of after this because I don't know how much more I can take.  Even worse my house is dirty and my husband is not being properly cared for.  Argh, this makes me feel so frustrated and down.  Don't worry though, tomorrow I'm sure will be better.

Oh What a Life :)

Oh what a life we lead.  All was calm this weekend but now...

Since I know people are asking, here is today's update.  We still don't know.  lol.  :)

I started bleeding again this weekend and we thought maybe that was going to clear it all up.  However, I went in for another HCG test again today and it was still up a little bit so now I have another doctor's appointment.  Heck, anyone want to start a co-pay charity for us?  lol.  We are feeling thankful to Heavenly Father for encouraging us to put our finances in order because otherwise this would not be fun.

The appointment is at 1:20 today.  I guess he is worried that I started bleeding again and that the levels are still going up.  We love you all and will let you know what we find out.
